Gemini Spacecraft Thruster

Display location: History Center

Thrusters are small rocket engines designed to make position changes in a spacecraft. Designed for the Gemini spacecraft, this type of thruster (right) was mounted in groups of two around the 'nose' of the capsule (left). The pairing of the thrusters was for redundancy in case of the failure of a single thruster.
