Industrial Area
| Consisting of a wide variety of buildings, the industrial area is the original centralized work area on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The most prominent factilities are the aircraft hangars that were constructed during the 1950s. The hangars provided large covered spaces for work on early winged missiles and later ballistic missiles being prepared for launch at nearby launch complexes. The facilities in the industrial area have been re-purposed over the years to accomodate the ever-changing lineup of launch vehicles and programs. |
