History of Launch Complex
- Two pads built for the Army Pershing
I missile program
- Construction started December 1958
and completed 22 January 1960
- Army accepted the launch complex on 10
February 1960
- A two-story blockhouse with an 8'
thick roof, two launch pads with service towers, missile
installation and checkout building & helicopter apron
- Supported 10 Pershing I test mission
launches from Pad 30, 5 January 1961 -24 April 1963
- Supported 45 Pershing I launches from
Pad 30A, 25 February 1960 - 21 March 1963
- Mobile gantry dismantled and sold for
salvage, 14 February 1968
- Pad made available to the Navy for
use in assembling MK48 torpedoes for sea test in March
1968
